    Overview

Arunachal Pradesh, the 'land of the dawn-lit mountains', is India's largest and least-explored Northeast state. It ranges from the snow-bound heights of Tawang to the green rice terraces of Ziro, and is home to more than two dozen tribes, each with their own traditions, food and festivals.

    Best Time to Visit

March to May and October to early December for clear skies and open mountain roads.

    How to Reach

Nearest airports are Guwahati and Tezpur in Assam; rail to Naharlagun or Guwahati, then a long, scenic drive into the hills. Newer greenfield airports within the state are improving access.

    Permit Requirements

Inner Line Permit (ILP) required for Indian visitors; Protected Area Permit for foreign nationals. We assist with both.

    Know Before You Go

    • Apply for your ILP well in advance and carry several ID copies and passport photos.
    • Acclimatise before high passes like Sela; ascend gradually and stay hydrated.
    • Distances are short on the map but slow on the ground — keep a buffer day for weather.
    • Carry cash; ATMs and card machines are scarce once you leave the bigger towns.
    • Mobile signal is patchy — BSNL and Jio work best, and postpaid SIMs are more reliable.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Indian nationals need an Inner Line Permit (ILP) and foreign nationals a Protected Area Permit (PAP). We arrange both as part of your trip.

How many days do I need for Arunachal Pradesh?

A Tawang circuit needs about 6–8 days, including the drive in from Assam. Add a few days to combine Ziro or Mechuka.

March to May and October to early December offer clear skies and open roads. Sela Pass can close briefly after heavy winter snow.

How do I reach Arunachal Pradesh?

Most travellers fly to Guwahati or Tezpur in Assam and drive up; trains run to Naharlagun and Guwahati. New airports within the state are improving access.

Where do your Arunachal Pradesh tours start?

Our Tawang tours start in Guwahati and the Ziro tour starts in Itanagar, each with a pickup at the airport or railway station. Both are connected by air and rail from across India.

Is Tawang safe for a family trip?
